Terrible company. Very disappointed with their products! I’ve had issue after issue with their battery and had gone through a few until finally one just died on me while I was at work leaving me in a bind and not being able to see. They refused to refund me the money even knowing all the issues I had. Buy from this company at your own risk!

I ordered the headlight about 2 months ago, and I love the quality of the light.
Pros:
It's bright
It has its own high-powered function for specific procedures like endo, and a dimmer on the left side
It's universal - as long as you specify what frame loupe you have, Ultralight has it and will send it to you with free expedited shipping
Customer service is EXCEPTIONAL*
Cons:
The power button is a bit cheap-feeling and it can turn on by the slightest pressure in their specific custom loupes case; keep those styrofoam cutouts or make a Splash putty mold to stick under it to keep that from happening
*Seriously, I haven't experienced better customer service than this company in my life. I had a trial period for one pair of loupes and Ultralight shipped over the light and its custom attachment to arrive around the same time as the loupes seamlessly. Then, when I decided on a different brand of loupes, they sent over the new attachment immediately, no questions, no charge. I was unhappy that I didn't have a case, so they offered me a great discount as a student and sent it over in no time.

I purchased my loupes and light at a dental convention a few years ago and I honestly love this headlight and the neck battery back. Super comfortable! I have had to have the light and batteries replaced a couple times, however, the customer service has been fantastic! One phone call and it’s all taken care of. Great investment! Thank you!

The Omega battery pack is great when its on, but sometimes turns off at random times even when there's still battery. Could use some improvement there.

I always crank up the light to maximum, and prefer the original buttons where they could be preset without mistakenly changing it with a head nod. This is fixable with manually setting it, removing the button and putting a piece of black electric tape over it, but would be nice to have a plastic cover, though. Regardless, it is more usable than any other system I've used in 20+ years!

Honestly wouldn't recommend this product. I prefer their old corded one which I still have. This light doesn't get as bright as that one. This product is not very ergonomical. If you just lean your head a little to the left you can accidently hit the the switch that changes the light setting; so if you are always at the highest (as you can't really see anything with the lower settings) you will go to the next setting which is the lowest. Furthermore, to turn it on all you need is to press the right button in. This is really annoying, because if you lose the foam plastic thing that you slip under to prevent it from pressing down and you are packigng it in your case it can easily turn on- luckily when I misplace the foam U shape thing wrap the right joy stick with a rubber band. Also you can turn on the the super bright function, but honeslty it doesn't last long. I understand the whole purpose of the design is to have the battery weigh on the neck as opposed to other wiredless headlights which may be too heavy on the loupes. But honestly if you are looking for a touch setting light with a short cable that isn't on your loupes why not go with the lumadent one that clips on your shirt collar? I wish I could return the product for the the wired batteries, but I think it's past my return date!

This works well when it does. However the quality is not very good. It breaks every single year, as soon as the warranty is up. Whether in the battery or the wire. I'm tired of replacing it every single year.

This product is convenient and fits much better than a traditional, pocket-attached battery pack.
The only issue I've encountered so far was how short the battery last. If I fully charged the battery on a Thursday afternoon (4 PM), use the light only on a few patients on Friday (max. 2-3 hours total utilization time), I do expect it to last on a few patients on Monday. That is not what I was getting, and now I do need to switch between head light in the room and this light.

Great product. My only issue is the connection between the loupes and the light are a little loose so my light doesn’t always stay on. Also the brightest setting doesn’t last that long maybe one rct. Overall a great light for the price.

The battery turns on once you close the carrying case so next time you are gonna use it you have no power. If u look left the light intensity changes. If u look right the light turns off. Just some things to consider for the next model.

The worst costumer’s service I have ever seen, the attachment doesn’t match with my loop, which I sent the photo. Sent lots of emails, no answer. With no attachment, the light is useless. Terrible experience

I love the convenience of not having a battery park in my pocket. The magnetic attachment is wonderful. I am enjoying the style very much. Just wish there was an option for a higher power light.

The light is not bright enough. The focal spot is too wide, therefore the beam is not focused.
The main complaint is that I got a skin rash and severe irritation from battery on my neck.
Unfortunately, cannot return the product. They will switch to the wired one. The only option they offer.

I love this headlamp - I've used the previous version for years and now use it with the newer battery. It's great to not have a long wire to deal with or batteries on your glasses frame and it's so easy to turn on and off hands free. I've used other ones with that were hands free that required me to bob my head up and down and also wave my hands around trying to get a proximity sensor to trigger but they were all so finicky. Face shields made those other ones even more difficult to manage.
I admit that I don't use the coiled plastic that they include to affix the loupes cord to my frame and instead use very two very thin zip ties to secure the wire to my loupes frame and another to my loupes strap. I can still easily tighten and loosen the loupes strap and nothing ever tangles.
(not related but I also switched my loupes strap to an elastic one so that I just stretch it over my head to slide them on instead of dealing with the strap cinch each time)

Newer Ultralight Headlamp system is fantastic- the collier battery is so comfortable-light weight & well balanced
It is very easy & comfortable to click off/on with side of your jaw
It took 2 weeks to learn how to avoid accidentally clicking off/on when moving around but doable & very well worth it to be hands free
The powerful lamp was easily mounted in safety glasses & like ability to power up or down hands free also
Customer service has been outstanding
This is my second Ultralight Headlamp system- both times placing orders & any support I needed was handled promptly & courteously

Comprei duas baterias e uso todos os dias intercalando cada uma delas. A luz é muito boa, não vivo mais sem! O problema maior é grave é a fragilidade! Extremamente frágil! Tem que ter muito cuidado, pois só de pegar na mão já se vê que não vai durar muito. O Plastico é muito duro e quebra em pedacinhos. As duas baterias minhas estão remendadas com fita preta para dar um reforço. Mas, a luz é maravilhosa!

Ultralight Optics is the BEST. I am addicted to these battery packs and headlight. i have 2 sets, and rotate them everyday. The housing on the battery got so beat up from my heavy usage they literally fell apart. But Ultralight CS is the best and replaced the housings for me. This company ROCKS!!!
