Waiting to see if the new batch retain a charge well.

Love the light and battery system. very powerful light and lasts all day, and I usually have it on high

Love the concept but the battery doesn’t stay charged for a full 8 hours. It cuts out around 7 hours and I have to finish my day without it.
My first battery stayed charged the entire day,.I’m really disappointed!

Much better design than the battery pack I had before.

I like the light and ease of carry on my neck. The only complaint is that the plastic is fragile and breaks easily over time. Thus needing replacement.
Judith S.
the batteries don't seem to last very long. This is a problem for me. It seems to be about 6 months. Can you do something to make it last longer?
Thanks.

Light weight. Easy to wear. O Ly thing is the material cracks easily. I am super careful with the battery! I put it back into the box after my day ends. I already have to cracks on each side of the buttons. I don’t know why it cracked there.

Best battery and cord combo, unfortunately need to be very careful with putting on and off, may break in half, hate the light intensity button on left, too easy to hit it with chin and dim light in middle of procedure.

I love the concept of the light battery around the neck but the plastic breaks too easily from removing it and putting it back on. It should hold up and be tougher and stronger than it is. I have to order new batteries too soon because the plastic neck on the battery cracks and breaks.
Also the new battery design with the button on the left for brightness that mirrors the power button on the right is a bad design. The left brightness button is too easy to hit and turn the light off for people that are right handed, because as a right handed dentist we naturally turn our heads to the left to work on patients and I am now constantly inadvertently turning the brightness down to the lowest level which looks like the light is off. I never had that problem with the old design with no Left button on the end of the battery.

For a few years I have had Surgitel flip up surgical telescopes with a Surgitel headlamp. I liked the setup except for the cord from the battery to the lamp which I continually snagged. After reading a review from Dr. Gordon Christensen, I ordered the Omega Pro Headlamp. I really like the easily accessed battery and cord — easy on/off and no snagging the cord. I then ordered a second battery. Although the light was not as bright as the Surgitel light, at its brightest the Omega Pro is as bright as I need. My only problem was that it would not stay bright but seemed to dim from time to time. I emailed an enquiry to support at Ultralight Optics. They recommended I use the foam pieces supplied with the unit to keep the dimmer switch from being activated, and because I had discarded the originals they sent me 4 more. I did not think this would work, but to my surprise it has worked perfectly for the past 3 months. The light does not go dim and I couldn’t be happier! This is an excellent product.

I have been a Ultralight Optics user for many years. I have had several lights. This is the only light I tried that was as powerful as the belt wired version. This is my second battery due to a crack in the housing, but with the new contour it is much more confortabel and stays straight. You can't go wrong.

Have to buy one every 3-6 months cuz they constantly break. Also the frame once again broke the glasses so im out of the light and magnification. Will not be recommending this system.

Love this battery and light. Bought a new battery which turned out to be defective. They sent me a new one in a hurry with zero hassle. Great company to work with. Been using their lights for more than five years with no regrets. Thanks Ultralight!

So comfortable I often walk out of the office still wearing it.

I love the convenience of a battery that sits on my neck and love that its hands free. However, plastic breaks very easily just from normal wear and tear. Both my batteries broke after just under a year and were replaced under warranty. Thank you! One year later the two new ones were broken again. I’ve been holding them together with electricians tape. Just ordered a new battery and it’s working but battery life is significantly lower than the previous batteries. I don’t have it turned on high and it still dies before I make it to lunch. Is it defective?

I work at two locations and got 2 sets of loupes, 2 lights and 6 batteries, about 3 years ago. All 6 battery packs cracked and broke after one year of use and had to be replaced. The design has a weak spot and will crack at the side on/off switch and extend along the body. Unfortunately their replacement added a second switch on the opposite side, which constantly dims the unit whenever I turn my head.
Their sports frames also broke after about two and a half years of use. The lens tab that inserts into the frame broke off completely, and the entire lens fells out and won’t stay in. Nothing was ever dropped torqued or mistreated.
I was told by their rep to send the frames back for repair, since they have a lifetime warrenty. I sent them in and now they claim there’s only a limited warranty for 5 years, but they won’t honor fixing them as it’s normal wear tear, even though it’s only been 3 years. They’d be happy to charge me $500 for a new frame.
Wish I’d never spent money on this company. Horrible product, poor quality, and poor customer service. Buyer beware.

3rd light I’ve purchased

Love my new battery! Very comfortable.

The battery is great minus the dimmer button that I always hit accidentally. I would prefer it not be there.

I like the weight and the feel of these batteries. I do not like the belt batteries with the longer cords. This is my 3rd battery in 4 years beacuase they keep cracking at the narrowest area in the back along the seam. I am VERY careful how I handle it, it does not need to flex going on my narrow neck and the last one didn't make ot a full year. The price has come down, so purchasing my latest version was more reasonable. I don't like the light intensity button being on the front as I tend to bump it when turning my head. I see the seam is gone where past plastic failure occurred, so maybe this one will last longer? Light intensity is great and the weight on my coupes is nice too, that's why I keep hoping they figure out the durability q

Easy to use and comfortable.
Allows me to turn it on and off without using my hands.

Neck "activated" dimming button unnecessary and almost makes unit unusable if it's switched up/down by accident. Have to take the unit off to reset, doff and don new gloves.

I'm glad you removed the chin button that controls the intensity of the light. I kept bumping it accidentally and dimming my light when I turned to pick up something off of the table to the back left of my patient. I put foam under the button on my other battery. That works, but the button then doesn't work. The buttons on the back near the cord connection work great. The right chin button is really nice to turn it on and off.

This is maybe the 5th battery I've purchased. It works well and you can almost forget you're wearing it because the shape follows the shape of the body so well. It can be fragile though in the center part where the casing is thinner. If torqued when taking it on or off the plastic will crack. I've tried taping it but that makes it overheat. Also the battery lasts about 6 1/2 hours whereas the older model would last a full 8 hours. It may last longer as it goes through more cycles.

Ergonomically wonderful battery pack

I like the way the battery rests on my shoulders, and it is light. I notice that the more I charge it, the longer the charge lasts. But - one needs to be careful handling it, taking it off and putting it away as the thin area where you attach the cord is fragile, the plastic cracks easily. I've broken 2 this way. Always hold both ends at the same time, if you remove it one-handed, it is going to break.
